Nipples drinkers are very simple pieces but they must obey some basic usage criteria, regardless of the choice of the type of drinker according to the type of pig.
Main Characteristics for selection and installation:
- Water pressure; usually is better when lower (with piglets is better not exceed 2 bar).
- Saving water.
- Smoother flow.
- Little wear.
- Easy manipulation.
- Water flow; must be regulated according the length of the ship.
- For transition and fattening recommended max 0.6 - 1 liter / min.
- Recommended to install reducers to compensate differences.
- Recommended to install reducers to regulate the entire warehouse according to the season of the year.
- Height and position of the drinkers.
- Pigs should slightly lower their heads in bowl drinkers.
- The feeders should be mounted as low as possible to avoid that the pigs playing do not fill the pans.
- With piglets we should be able to have 2 height adjustments.
- Mounting angle.
- Bitten drinkers angle can range between 15 and 45.
- For 15º use the lower height.
- For 45º use the highest height.
- Installation of a filter to avoid future problems with dirt.
